Network Engineer (Voice / Data) 1 yr contract, renewable

A very challenging Network Engineer position working under the Systems Department with a dynamic and rapidly expanding multi-national IT solutions and services company.

Responsibilities:

* Network Equipment (routers, switches, etc) – monitoring support and hardware support

* Support the Local, Internet, Firewalls, NMS (Network Management System) for Headquarters.

* To perform operation checks to ensure maximum uptime for WAN/Firewall/VPN related systems and to provide operations report.

* Provide maintenance support on Routers / Firewall / Gateway / Layer 3 switches and network migrations at customer locations and update the CRM and IT Manager for any recommendations or other requirements related to the enhancement of client’s systems infrastructure.

* Attend clients and internal end-users network inquiries.

* Provides 2nd and 3rd level network related support to client.

* Responsible for administration, performance monitoring and tuning, capacity planning and maintenance of Firewall, VPN Servers / Proxy Servers, Anti-virus etc.

* Voice recording system

* Dealer board management and recording system.

* TNS Vendor management (mobile, fixed line and data)

Requirements:

* At least 2 - 4 years of relevant working experience in designing and managing network and systems infrastructure

* Good team leading experience

* Good working knowledge of servers, network, IT security and operations

* Valid Certifications in Cisco / Juniper / SonicWall / Sun / Microsoft / Linux / Solaris will be advantageous

* Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)

* Excellent knowledge of Cisco / Nokia Firewalls, 3com / D-Link / Netgear switches and hubs, modems etc. / Windows 2003, Active Directory, MS Exchange, Citrix, lotus notes and SAN storage

* Knowledge on various backup software and methods including McAfee, Seagate and Symantec.

* Knowledge on various PC- based operating systems (Windows 2000 / XP / Unix based)

* Knowledge of Blade Servers Management, VMware, High Availability (NLB/Cluster), Lotus Notes, MOM, Blackberry and Sharepoint will be added advantage

* Familiar with network protocols like TCP/IP, IPX/SPX and routing protocols like BGP, EIGRP and RIP.

* Preferably with system administration experience in Unix systems, wireless, firewall and VPN.

* ITIL background.

* 1 year contract / renewable
