Regional IT Director
As the Regional IT Director, you will manage the company’s APAC IT Infrastructure Services staff, ensuring the stable operation of the IV’s APAC IT infrastructure. This includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas, particularly network infrastructure, server infrastructure, data communications, and telecommunications systems. This role will also be responsible for development of strong vendor partnerships and the implementation of best practices to ensure that performance (availability, scalability, reliability) and security requirements are met. In addition, the individual will be responsible for managing the daily tasks of infrastructure staff that includes Systems/Network Engineers and System/Network Administrators.
Responsibilities
- Deliver cost-effective and right-sized infrastructure solutions in support of business objectives and corporate strategic direction.
- Ensure Operational support of all IT infrastructure and systems on a 24 x 7 basis.
- Direct/ control the use of third-party resources wherever necessary to provide delivery and/or maintenance of IT infrastructure.
- Accountable for the delivery of technology infrastructure in accordance with established technology standards and industry best practices.
- Manage the day to day operational relationship with key strategic vendors and outsourced service providers
- Provision of Operational Metrics to support fact based analysis.
- Managing our Video Conference and Telecommunication infrastructure
- Managing Technical competency and skills training within the defined budget.
- Ensure Disaster Recovery Plans are in place for all key infrastructure components.
- Ensure Application Recovery Plans exist for key applications in conjunction with the Application Development team
- Implementing IT infrastructure systems on a global basis.
- Develop working relationship with groups within or outside of IT to help implement technical solutions.
- Flexible schedule as this job may require extended support hours, occasional night, weekend and some on-call work as deemed necessary
- Managing the daily tasks of the infrastructure team members
Skills, Education and Experience
- BS or BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or demonstrate equivalent training or technical experience. Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Experience working in a start-up environment & finance industry an advantage.
- 5+ years experience managing medium to large-scale IT infrastructures
- 10+ years experience designing, implementing and supporting Microsoft technology environments
- Knowledge of Windows and MAC clients and Windows servers as used in a corporate or small business setting.
- Experience managing Video conference and telecommunications infrastructure as must
- Basic understanding of Active Directory, group policy and the Windows security model
- Good experience in troubleshooting TCP/IP network environment
- Good experience troubleshooting hardware, PCs, laptops (Windows and MAC) and a variety of mobile devices
- Basic administration (moves, adds, changes) of various server based applications (Exchange, SQL, Sharepoint, Antivirus, Veritas Backup, Blackberry/Other PDA Technologies systems)
- Must have experience with Exchange 2003, Windows 2003 administration
- Microsoft, Cisco, A+/Net+/Security+ certifications a plus but not required
- ITIL foundation certification would be a plus
- Proven ability to lead an IT Infrastructure and Support team responsible for the successful operations of the company’s data centers, servers, communications hardware, operating systems, and data and voice networks.
- Ability to provide input and guidance to senior management necessary to meet the strategic long-term goals relative to technology direction
- Direct experience successfully managing external vendors, independent consultants and contractors
- Experience with information technology security solutions and practices
- Experience with automated network and systems monitoring and alerting solutions
- Experience with designing, implementing, and testing disaster recovery and business continuity plans
- Experience implementing and supporting VPN or other Telecommuting solutions
- Experience with implementation and support of Cisco telephony infrastructure
- Experience with implementation and support of virtualization technologies (e.g. VMWare, SAN, etc)
- Proven ability to build, motivate and lead high performing teams.
